The International Institute of Gemology organized the industrial visit for the students of Gemstones and Diamond to SRK Exports on 27th November 2021 followed on the next day to GJSM-2021 on 28th November 2021 guided with the director IIG, Mr. Rahul Desai and faculty coordinator, Ms. Pooja Ray.

The industrial visit was organized to one of the largest diamond manufacturer company so that the students could explore and learn. In the first lap, the students and faculty members were taken on a guided tour of SRK. They acquired knowledge of the company, its history and all about the products they manufacture. They grasped important considerations and gained practical understanding of diamond manufacturing – from rough to polished; hands-on comprehension of the industrial handling and some of the automated process. They were showcased how a diamond is polished using top of the line machines, as well as different researches which take place to open new horizons in the gems and jewellery industry. Followed by profound research of Surat market and visit to medium scale and small scale factories.

The visit was followed by an excursion to the “GEM & JEWELLERY SHOW MANUFACTURER-2021” on 28th November which is one of the largest and most high-end jewellery shows.

After all, the trip was an enlightening experience whereas the students were mesmerized by both Human and Divine Creation.
