Master’s in Gems and Jewellery is an all rounded course where you will learn about the theoretical and practical part of Gemology, Diamond and jewellery designing. Gemology part of the course covers all the technical aspect of gemstones from mines to market. Diamond grading and assorting is taught in this course with 10 C’s and VGS grading system. Jewellery part of the course covers manual designing, manufacturing, Rhino (licensed version) Matrix Gold (licensed version), branding and retailing.

 

What if you want to learn only about manual jewellery designing?

 

Basic manual jewellery design will teach you the creation part – it is the starting point of learning jewellery design techniques. Your ideas and vision will be polished and you will be able to create designs on the paper as IIG has an enterprising faculty teaching various techniques and aspects of jewellery designing from the grass root levels – right from traditional antique jewellery to current trends.

In the CAD professional course, you will work on licensed versions of Rhino and MatrixGold

Your designs are bought to life in these courses keeping in mind the technical aspect of jewellery designing. In the CAD Professionals program course, you will learn about the tools, 3D modelling, interface, creating rings, pendants, earrings, editing tools, blending curves, designs, stone setting techniques, weight calculations, modelling, and exporting a 3D model for CAM.

Colors play a major part in our life. In the same way Gemology course is about various colors of gems. You will learn about mines, origins, regions and the grading aspect in this course. Gemstones are bought to life in this course.

IIG is starting a new course just for manufacturing students. All manual and CAD designs are manufactured using gold/ silver/ diamonds and gems. These designs are processed to create wax models for the manufacturing process. Then the beautiful designs are cast. The course is learnt at manufacturing units where you can learn in real–time process (practical).

 

At the end of the course you will have questions on how will you brand your product for sales? Is my shop attractive enough to make a sale on regular basis?

 

At IIG you will learn about creating logos, branding your product and setting up your store to make it look attractive. You will learn about brand identity. Topics like product costing and budgeting for both Indian and International markets are covered. Sales and inventory cycles with case studies is taught in this program.

 

Do you think Retailing is an important part of the product?

 

The retail sale part brings joy, as our labor of love for jewellery has come to fruition. The course at IIG teaches the complete process of the retail jewellery business. It has an introduction to 4 P’s of merchandising industry. They teach about target customers, buying patterns, visual merchandising and store management techniques.
