Course Admissions – Cancellation & Refund Policy

(Updated as per IIG’s revised refund structure)

1.1 Introduction

The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) is committed to full transparency, fairness, and student-first practices in all admission and fee-related matters. This policy clearly outlines the refund eligibility windows, non-refundable components, and procedures to ensure smooth processing and prevent disputes. Students are advised to carefully review and follow the policy to maintain eligibility for any applicable refunds.

1.2 Refund Tiers

a) Cancellation Within 24 Hours of Admission

• Eligible for a 100% refund of programme/course fees paid,
  excluding:
  • Non-refundable registration/admission charges,
  • Payment gateway or processing fees, or
  • ₹20,000, whichever amount is higher.
• A written request must be submitted within the 24-hour window.

b) Cancellation Within 7 Days of Admission

• Eligible for a 50% refund of course fees.
• Registration fees, processing charges, study material costs (if applicable), and ₹20,000 (whichever is higher) remain strictly non-refundable.
• The request must be made after the first 24 hours but before the 7th calendar day from the date of admission.

c) Cancellation After 7 Days of Admission

• No refund is applicable after the 7-day period.
• Refunds after this window may only be considered in:
  • Institute-driven cancellation of the programme, or
  • Rare, documented medical emergencies, solely at the discretion of IIG management.
• Decisions made by the management in such cases will be final.

1.3 Additional Terms & Requirements

• All refund or cancellation requests must be submitted only via email to:
  admissions@iigindia.com
  Include full student details and the reason for cancellation.
• Refunds will be processed within 15 working days from the date of approval and will be credited to the original mode of payment.
• Non-refundable components include:
  • Admission/registration fees
  • Processing/gateway charges
  • Study materials already dispatched or utilised
  • Assessment/exam fees
• IIG reserves the right to modify or update the policy. The most recent version will always be available on the official website.

1.4 Consequences of Non-Compliance

• Failure to submit a written cancellation request within the specified timelines will automatically result in ineligibility for refund.
• Requests attempting to claim refunds for non-refundable items will be immediately rejected.
• Fraudulent, repeated, or policy-violating refund attempts may result in:
  • Disciplinary action,
  • Possible expulsion,
  • Forfeiture of ongoing educational privileges or credentials.
• All decisions by the Institute regarding refund eligibility, processing, and final amounts are final and binding. Non-compliance may also affect future enrolments or access to IIG services.

1.5 Non-Attendance

• Failure to attend the course without written cancellation (“no-show”) will be treated as a late cancellation.
• No refund applies, and the full course fee remains payable.

Product Sales – Cancellation, Refund & Return Policy

2.1 Applicability

This section applies to all products sold by IIG, including but not limited to:

• Educational kits
• Instruments
• Books and publications
• Merchandise
• Digital resources

2.2 Cancellation Before Product Dispatch

• Cancellation is permitted before the product is dispatched.
• A refund will be issued after deducting any applicable administrative or payment processing charges.

2.3 Return & Refund After Delivery

Returns or refunds after product delivery are allowed only if:

• The product is defective, damaged, or incorrect,
• The return is requested within 7 days of receiving the product,
• The product is unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition.

Products not eligible for return:

• Digital products
• Downloadable content
• Opened/used items
• Customized or special-order items

2.4 Refund Method

• Refunds will be processed through the same payment method used for purchase.
• Processing time: 7–14 working days (depending on banking/payment provider).

Online Transactions – Terms & Conditions

3.1 Additional Transaction Terms

Any part of the IIG website that allows order placement, payments, or other digital transactions may carry additional terms specific to that transaction.
Such terms will be clearly displayed at the relevant point of purchase and operate in addition to (not in replacement of) this policy.

3.2 User Responsibility

By completing a transaction, the user confirms that they:

• Have reviewed and accepted all applicable terms displayed on the site,
• Are responsible for providing accurate contact, billing, and delivery information.

Import, Export & Compliance Policy

4.1 Legal Restrictions

You agree to comply with all applicable import, export, and re-export laws, including but not limited to:

• Country-specific trade regulations
• International sanctions
• Shipping and customs laws

4.2 Representation by the User

By initiating a transaction with IIG (online or offline), you confirm that:

• You are not located in a country restricted by applicable import/export laws,
• You are not a person or entity prohibited from receiving exported goods/services,
• You take full responsibility for any legal requirements in your local jurisdiction.

4.3 Liability

IIG will not be held responsible for delays, holds, duties, or penalties arising from:

• Customs procedures
• Regulatory restrictions
• Documentation errors on the part of the buyer

General Provisions

5.1 Policy Updates

IIG reserves the right to update, modify, or revise this policy at any time.
Updated policies will be posted on the official website and will supersede previous versions.

5.2 Acceptance of Policy

By enrolling in any course or purchasing any product from IIG, the Candidate/Customer is deemed to have fully read, understood, and accepted this policy.
